What a broker actually does
Carriers own the trucks and haul the freight. A broker connects the vehicle to the right truck, verifies that truck is legal and insured, negotiates the rate, and manages the move from dispatch to delivery.
That means when a lane is tight, you have someone working the phones instead of one truck's schedule. And when something goes sideways at pickup, you have one number to call.
